The deadline for submissions to the 6th Jean Monnet Prize for Social Sciences is approaching. Young researchers interested in topics related to “The globalisation of EU values and democracy” may submit their unpublished research papers until 1 June 2026.
The initiative is organised by the Jean Monnet Network “BRIDGE Watch: values and democracy in the EU and Latin America”, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, in partnership with LACES (Latin-American Center for European Studies) and the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
The Prize aims to promote excellence in research among young scholars. Papers may be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese, either individually or in co-authorship (maximum of three authors).
The author of the highest-rated paper will receive the 6th Jean Monnet Prize for Social Sciences and will be invited to participate in the 12th Seminar of the Jean Monnet Network BRIDGE on Green Transition and Sustainable Societies, to be held at the University of the Republic (Uruguay), with travel and accommodation expenses covered. The winning paper, as well as the papers receiving honourable mention, will also be published in the Latin American Journal of European Studies.
