Partnership between Bridge Watch and the Permanent Review Court of MERCOSUR strengthens integration and interinstitutional cooperation

The Bridge Watch Project and the Secretariat of the Permanent Review Court of MERCOSUR formalized an important partnership with the signing of an interinstitutional cooperation agreement. The ceremony took place in Asunción, Paraguay, on October 16, 2024, bringing together the Secretary of the Permanent Review Court, Dr. Natasha Suñé, and the representatives of Bridge Watch, Profesor Dr. Nuno Cunha Rodrigues, project coordinator, and Profesor Dr. Aline Beltrame de Moura, co-coordinator.

The agreement aims to promote joint actions focused on deepening knowledge about MERCOSUR and regional integration, with an emphasis on disseminating democratic values and strengthening cooperation between the European Union and Latin America. The planned initiatives include organizing seminars, workshops, publications, and academic training programs, as well as exchanging technical studies and publications.

The partnership reflects the commitment of both institutions to foster interdisciplinary knowledge production and strengthen connections between academia and society. Supported by the European Commission’s Jean Monnet Actions, the Bridge Watch project brings together 14 prestigious universities from Europe and Latin America.

This strategic collaboration promises to significantly contribute to understanding regional integration processes in MERCOSUR, enhancing intercontinental dialogue and reinforcing democratic values in the international arena. The partnership underscores the global impact of the Bridge Watch project and its relevance to studies on regional integration and international cooperation.
