  • PhD from the Division of Higher Studies of the Faculty of Law (UNAM), specializing in Constitutional and Administrative Law. 
  • Full-time researcher at the UNAM Institute of Legal Research.
  • Author of 28 books; Translator of a book (Russian to Spanish), 49 book chapters, 30 articles in Mexican and foreign magazines.
  • Founder and Chief-Editor of the Mexican Yearbook of International Law (AMDI).
  • Emeritus Member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of Mexico.
  • Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC).
  • Professor of Public International Law at the UNAM Faculty of Law (Mexico).
  • Visiting professor at Oxford University (UK), Emory University (USA), University of California (USA), University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), University of Ottawa (Canada).
  • In 2024 he was awarded the National University Prize (UNAM) for an outstanding research career in Social Sciences.
