The coordinator of the Jean Monnet Policy Debate project “BRIDGE Watch,” Nuno Cunha Rodrigues, from the University of Lisbon, is launching the book “A Globalização do Poder Regulatório da União Europeia”.

The book analyzes the mechanisms that the EU has been building to expand European legal norms worldwide.

It studies, in detail, the extraterritorial reach driven by competition law; the new regulatory framework applicable to the digital economy; the legal order related to environmental policy; banking union and financial markets; and the free movement of capital.

It identifies, ultimately, a regulatory power of the EU, stabilized at the intra-community level, which has been increasingly expanded to a global dimension.
