IV Jean Monnet Network Seminar - University of Rosario, Colombia

Between October 3rd and 5th, 2022 the Jean Monnet Network - BRIDGE, project funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union, will carry out a series of academic activities in the IV Meeting of the Jean Monnet Network - BRIDGE at the Law Faculty of the Universidad de Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia, with the central theme: "Dialogues on economic and sustainable development between the EU and third countries". All activities will take place in hybrid mode (face-to-face and via Zoom).

On March 03, 2022, at 3pm (GMT -05:00), the Round Table on "Arbitraje internacional y relaciones económicas desde el derecho internacional público y privado" will take place. Afterwards, at 5pm, there will be the launch of the book "Latin American cases before the International Court of Justice: Borders, armed conflicts, human rights and the environment" coordinated by Manuel Becerra Ramírez, published by the publisher of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

On the 4th, at 9:00 am (GMT -05:00) we will have the Seminar on "Dialogues on economic and sustainable development between the EU and third countries". Participants in the event: Alejandro Linares Cantillo, Magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Colombia, Sonia Tato, Deputy Head of EU Cooperation in Colombia, Mikkel Hall, Counselor at the Danish Embassy in Bogotá, and Jennyffer Vargas, Deputy Director of ACUA Foundation.

On the same day, at 2 pm (GMT -05:00), the Workshop "Dialogues on economic and sustainable development between the EU and third countries" will take place, aimed at the presentation of 14 papers written by authors from countries like Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland and Germany, which were selected through Call for Papers, and the two best papers will be awarded with the value of EUR 250 each.

In addition, to finalize the proposed activities, on October 5th, starting at 08:00 (GMT -05:00), the Training Course on "El proceso de integración regional de la Unión Europea y su impacto en la prestación de asistencia jurídica en América Latina" will be held for Army officers and the general public. The session will take place in person at the University of Rosario and virtually (via Zoom), and is supported by the Escuela Militar de Cadetes de Bogotá (ESMIC).

The meeting is part of the activities developed by the Jean Monnet Network "Building Rights and Developing Knowledge between European Union and Latin America - BRIDGE", a project co-funded by the European Union's Erasmus + Program and composed of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil); the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon; the University of Seville (Spain); the University of Milan (Italy); the Universidad Nacional Autónoma (Mexico); the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and the University of Rosario (Colombia).
