New vacancies have been announced for the European Union’s trainee program within its delegations in Latin America, specifically:
- Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Brazil, Bolivia, Guyana/Suriname, and Venezuela
- Unpaid Compulsory traineeship for students at the EU Delegation to Costa Rica

Unpaid Compulsory traineeship for students at the EU Delegation to Costa Rica:
- Deadline: 31/08/2024
- An unpaid traineeship of up to 6 months for students undertaking a compulsory traineeship as a part of their studies, within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Costa Rica, starting in October, 2024.
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Students enrolled in 3rd, 4th and 5th year of university.
- Who require mandatory internships within the framework of their studies.
- No previous experience of more than six weeks in the EU institutions.
Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Venezuela:
- Deadline: 31/08/2024
- A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information (PPI)Section of the EU Delegation to Venezuela, starting in October 2024.
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Taking into consideration of the local health and security conditions, only Venezuelan applicants currently residing in Caracas will be considered.
- Minimum a Bachelor’s degree.
- Very good command of English is required.
- The incumbent must be able to demonstrate strong computer literacy notably for Microsoft Office, internet and web content production, webinars, and good management skills of social networks applications such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- Deadline: 13/09/2024
- A traineeship of 6 months within the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to Guyana, starting in October 2024.
Qualifications or special requirements:
- University degree in economics, political science, social science, engineering, development studies, international relations or similar.
- English is the working language at the Delegation; knowledge of Spanish, French or Dutch will be an asset.
- Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Guyana (Guyanese nationality or citizens from the EU Member States) will only be considered.
Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Brazil:
- Deadline: 15/09/2024
- A traineeship of 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Brazil, starting in mid October 2024.
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Very good knowledge of the Portuguese and English language, orally and in writing.
- Good analytical skills.
- Knowledge of international relations / politics and already having worked in a diplomatic environment would be an asset;
- Experience in the areas of communications, social media or press-related work would be an asset.
Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Bolivia:
- Deadline: 23/09/2024
- A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation/Office to Bolivia, starting in November 2024.
Qualifications or special requirements:
- Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in BOLIVIA will only be considered.
- University degree in Political Science, Communications, Business, Economic, Social, Law or related fields.
- Advanced knowledge of oral and written English and Spanish (to be tested).
- Analytical skills (to be tested).
- Strong skills and quality in producing contents for social media.
- Maximum one year of professional experience.
