Open Traineeships at the EU Delegation to Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica,  Ecuador, Guatemala and Honduras

New vacancies have been announced for the European Union’s trainee program within its delegations in Latin America, specifically:

 

  • Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica,  Ecuador, Guatemala and Honduras

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Argentina:

Deadline: 23/02/2025

A traineeship of 6 months within the Politics, Public Diplomacy Section of the EU Delegation to Argentina, starting in April 2025, subject to budget availability.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Young graduates with a university degree and less than one year of experience.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • In the case of foreigners, they must have a temporary residence permit that authorizes them to access these practices during the stipulated duration.

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Ecuador:  

Deadline: 26/02/2025

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Ecuador, starting in April 2025.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • BA degree in Political Science, International Relations, Communications or related
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Good knowledge or specialization in Latin America
  • Good analytical and drafting skills
  • Ability to handle politically sensitive issues in a responsible manner

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Honduras: 

Deadline: 06/03/2025

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Honduras, starting in April the earliest 2025.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Francisco Morazán, Honduras] will only be considered.
  • To have at least one university diploma in international relations, institutional communication, journalism, political sciences or similar.
  • Perfect Spanish skills (native speaker or C2). Good knowledge of English.
  • Good drafting skills.
  • Interest in international relations and the work made by the European Union worldwide.
  • Social media knowledge

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Costa Rica

Deadline: 07/03/2025

A traineeship of 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Costa Rica, starting in June 2025.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Graduates with at least a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in International relations/ Political Sciences; ideally with a specialty in security and justice affairs
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, other languages are an asset; interest in and knowledge of Costa Rican politics is an advantage;
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills; good IT skills

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Ecuador:  

Deadline: 07/03/2025

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to Ecuador, starting in April 2025.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • MA diploma in Economic Development, Environment, International Relations, Social Sciences or equivalents
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (both spoken and written)

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Ecuador:  

Deadline: 07/03/2025

A traineeship of 3 months within the Trade and Economic Section of the EU Delegation to Ecuador, starting in April 2025.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Education:
    • BA in Economics, Trade or International Affairs.
    • BA in agriculture or environment will be considered as well.
  • Skills:
    • Analytical thinking, communication and research skills
    • Good IT competence, command of main office software programmes
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform a variety of administrative tasks
    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
    • Strong team working capacity
    • Eager to learn.
  • Language:
    • Excellent knowledge of Spanish (speaking, reading and writing). English at least level B2. C1 level in English will be considered an advantage.
  • Interests:
    • Trade relations between the EU and Ecuador;
    • Interest in EU trade policies and its repercussions in Ecuador’s economy;
    • Good knowledge Ecuador´s economic system and productive chains;
    • Good knowledge of Investment and Sustainable Trade.

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Guatemala:  

Deadline: 09/03/2025

A traineeship of 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Guatemala, starting in mid-May 2025.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Guatemalan citizen or citizen of an EU Member State
  • Young graduate with at least a Bachelor Diploma in the area of Law/Political Sciences /International relations/Sociology (or similar). A master degree will be taken into account positively during the selection process.
  • Excellent level of Spanish and English (both oral and written)
  • Knowledge of indigenous languages and culture is considered a strong asset
  • Written evidence that the candidate has suitable sickness/accident insurance

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Brazil  

Deadline: 13/03/2025

A traineeship of 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Brazil, starting in April 2025.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Very good knowledge of the Portuguese and English language, orally and in writing (knowledge of the Spanish language is not considered to be equivalent to Portuguese);
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of international relations / politics and already having worked in a diplomatic environment would be an asset;
  • Experience in the areas of communications, social media or press-related work would be an asset.

 

Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Brazil:  

Deadline: 31/03/2025

A traineeship of 6 months within the “Other EU Policies” Section of the EU Delegation to Brazil, starting in June 2025 until end November 2025. In the run-up to the UNFCCC COP30 hosted by Brazil, the trainee will support the work of the Section and the Delegation on activities related to the green and digital transitions agenda.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Very good knowledge of the Portuguese and English language, orally and in writing;
  • Good analytical, drafting and interpersonal skills;
  • Eagerness to learn and motivation to work as a team;
  • Demonstrated interest in the areas of climate and environment/ energy / digital agenda; experience in the relevant field(s) would be an asset;
  • Previous experience in Brazil/ Latin America would be considered as an extra asset.
